Our Support Coordinators will focus on supporting you to build skills and help you follow your own direction and reach your goals.

Kathryn Soar
Kathryn leads our team with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She holds a Masters in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Genetics major). Not only has she worked professionally in the disability sector for nine years, she also has over 25 years of lived experience. With support coordination and disability social work, Kathryn feels she has found her niche. She loves untangling complex and tricky situations for individuals and families and seeing people develop in confidence and build relationships with their communities.
When she's not working, you can find Kathryn spending time with her husband and two adult children. In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, and taking walks in nature.

Anita Julius
Anita is a dedicated social worker with five years of professional experience, two of which have been focused entirely in the disability sector. Her commitment to her participants is evident in her compassionate approach and expert knowledge.
She is dedicated to empowering and supporting her participants, ensuring every opportunity is tailored to help them reach their goals. She loves to see her participants connected with the right supports and services to enable them to live a full and meaningful life.
Anita fluently understands Kiswahili (Swahili) and understands and speaks Kikamba (Kamba).

Ben Mathew
Ben comes to Soaring Sparrows with over 15 years of in-depth experience in different fields ranging from Trauma Informed care, psychosocial assessments, Risk Assessments, Disaster Management, Rural Development, Basic Life Support, Community Home Support and Welfare Programme Delivery. These experiences have involved some of the most marginalized areas of the community including women, children, disabled and the elderly.
Originally from India, Ben and his family migrated to Australia in 2023. He is fluent in English, Malayalam and Hindi. He speaks intermediate French and basic Arabic and Tamil.

Catherine Kaeslar
Catherine offers Support Coordination and Psycho-Social Recovery Coaching. With a Bachelor of Human Movement and Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation, Catherine has developed an extensive skill set. This education, coupled with over 15 years of experience in the disability sector, allows her to provide specialised services for the participants she works with.
Before joining Soaring Sparrows, Catherine worked to support people going through brain injury rehabilitation. For the past 10 years her focus has been on psychosocial support. Over this time, she has developed a passion for supporting participants to work towards their goals.
Outside of work, Catherine enjoys horses, gardening and spending time at the beach. Catherine has family both in SA and interstate and she loves popping over the border for a quick visit when she can.

Michelle Davey
Michelle has 5 years experience working in the disability sector and over 20 years of lived experience. Her recent graduation from a Bachelor of Social Work, has given her a wealth of knowledge that she can use to benefit her clients. Michelle seeks to provide holistic, strength-based services that are grounded in evidence. She loves interacting with participants and their supports and helping them find solutions for a rewarding life.
She has extensive experience working with families, supporting parents to navigate the complexities of the NDIS while adapting to the changing needs of their children.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys watching movies and TV series, dining out with friends, and spending time with her young adult daughter.
